The success of TREC, CLEF, and NTCIR has clearly established the<br>
importance of building reusable, large-scale standard test collections<br>
in Information Access research. The Forum for Information Retrieval<br>
Evaluation (<span>FIRE</span>) follows in the footsteps of TREC, CLEF and NTCIR<br>
with the following aims:<br>
* to encourage research in South Asian language Information Access<br>
technologies by providing appropriate test collections;<br>
* to explore new Information Retrieval / Access tasks that arise as<br>
our information needs evolve, and new needs emerge.<br>
<br>
<span>SHORT</span> <span>PAPER</span> Session:<br>
We invite <span>short</span> <span>papers</span> (4 pages) describing work on any topic related<br>
to Information Retrieval and its evaluation. Specially welcome are the<br>
<span>papers</span> on creation of standard test collections on any sub-domain in<br>
the broad area of information access. Submitted <span>papers</span> will be<br>
blind-reviewed according to originality and technical merit. Selected<br>
<span>papers</span> will be published in the Workshop Proceedings in ACM Digital<br>
Library and can be presented during the Workshop. Authors of selected<br>
<span>short</span> <span>papers</span> will be invited to submit an extended version for<br>
publication in a peer-reviewed journal.<br>
<br>
SUBMISSION:<br>
The <span>papers</span> must be written in English and should not exceed 4 pages in<br>
the ACM 2-column format (including references and figures). Suitable<br>
LaTeX and Word templates are available from the ACM Website:<br>
<a href="http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates" target="_blank">http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates</a> (for LaTeX,<br>
use Option 2). The only accepted format for submissions is PDF. <span>Short</span><br>
<span>papers</span> must be submitted electronically using EasyChair<br>
(<a href="https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fire20140" target="_blank">https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fire20140</a>). After login, please<br>
choose the <span>short</span> <span>paper</span> option for submission.<br>
<br>
Author identity should be concealed (please omit author names and<br>
affiliations from the initial submission). Submissions that are over<br>
the 4-page limit or are not anonymous will be rejected without review.<br>
Note that shorter version of full <span>papers</span> that have already been<br>
published elsewhere (including in another language) are not acceptable<br>
as <span>short</span> <span>paper</span> submissions for <span>FIRE</span>.<br>

At least one author must register and attend the conference. Please<br>
note that it is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the<br>
PDF submission has been uploaded successfully (we suggest that you try<br>
downloading your <span>paper</span> again yourself, to check).<br>
