Therefore, methods must be developed in the scope of the open position to address the unpredictability and originality of text in this environment. Topics include normalization techniques to convert the input into more standard forms, the usage of continuous space models that are more robust to word variations and the development of MT evaluation techniques suited to this domain. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Required education Level and research experience</span></b><span style="font-size: 10pt;">: The candidate should have a Masters (mestre) degree on Electrical and Computer Engineering or in Computer Science, with certified qualifications on machine translation (MT) technologies. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: justify;"><b><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Workplace and scientific supervision</span></b><span style="font-size: 10pt;">: The activity will be supervised by Prof. Isabel Trancoso, coordinator of the project MT4M. The grantee will be integrated at the Spoken Language Systems Lab of INESC-ID.
