CONFERENCE ON TWITTER FOR RESEARCH - CALL FOR ABSTRACTS<br>
=======================================================<br>
<br>
### First International and Interdisciplinary Conference on
Twitter for Research (#TwLyon2015) ###<br>
### April 24, Lyon ###<br>
### Lyon, France ###<br>
### <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.conftwitter2015.org">www.conftwitter2015.org</a> ###<br>
<br>
<br>
#TwLyon2015 is a single day event where researchers from all
scientific disciplines will share their experience on using
Twitter for research.<br>
<br>
Twitter might be used in one field to investigate social networks.
Others might draw on Twitter for ethnographies of consumer
behavior, yet others use Twitter as a tool for predictive
analytics for epidemics.<br>
Twitter is also studied in its own right, with researchers testing
whether traditional natural langage processing tools and theories
still stand in the universe of 140 characters messages.<br>
<br>
The objective of this day is to develop interdisciplinary
awareness of the possibilities afforded by Twitter for research.<br>
Hence, we invite submissions from all perspectives and approaches
presenting results and developments in their area of expertise,
where Twitter played a role in the investigation.<br>
<br>
Examples of possible propositions:<br>
- Constitution of twitter lexicon for NLP<br>
- Ethnographies of consumer behavior using twitter<br>
- Opinion mining and sentiment analysis in twitter<br>
- Detection of earthquakes in real time using twitter<br>
- Syntactic analysis for twitter<br>
- Twitter as a tool for predictive analytics for epidemics<br>
- Detecting sarcasm using twitter<br>
- ...<br>
<br>
#TwLyon2015 will be held in english. Please send your proposition
as an extended abstracts, up to 2 pages without references, via
EasyChair (<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.conftwitter2015.org">www.conftwitter2015.org</a>).<br>
After acceptance notification for an oral or poster presentation,
a complete article can be send before #TwLyon2015. The proceedings
will be open access and online, with a DOI and referencing in HAL
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/">https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/</a>).<br>
We will try to accommodate all papers in the plenary session, but
if the program does not permit it a poster session will be
organized. Please indicate in your submission if your paper can be
presented in plenary or poster session.<br>
#TwLyon2015 will be organized to maximize mutual learning
opportunities: short plenary presentations (25 to 30 minutes),
speakers will be asked to present their results to a wide audience
(computer scientists should thrive to be intelligible to
sociologists and vice versa).<br>
