To conduct the project: Identity in Polish border communities as part of
a
major European research programme funded by the European Union's Fifth
Framework Programme into European identity construction in communities
along the borders between the EU and its Eastern and Southern ascendant
nations.

You must have at least a good first degree in social sciences together
with
postgraduate research experience and will be a native speaker of Polish
with written and spoken English.  Excellent personal communicative
skills
and a knowledge of Poland and its border regions to Germany are
essential.
You will be expected to conduct three months' independent research in
Poland and be familiar with literature on discourse analysis, social
anthropolgy and ethnographic fieldwork.  Familiarity with the recent
social
and political history of Poland and with its present social and
political
situation is also required.  This is a temporary appointment for two
years
and nine months.
