Applications are invited for a video ethnography research post to inform socio-technical innovation in crisis response. The post is linked to the EU Project BRIDGE (http://www.bridgeproject.eu/).

With a background in social science, ethnography and an interest in collaborative design, you will contribute to research on the ethical, legal and social aspects of IT supported emergency response. This explores opportunities, e.g. around the use of social media in crises, as well as challenges and dangers, e.g. around transformations of privacy. You will join Lancaster University's Centre for Mobilties Research and mobilities.lab.

This is a full-time, fixed term position until the end of the BRIDGE project on 31 March 2015.

Your application should include a supporting statement of how your past experience, and current and future research activities will contribute to understanding the ethical, legal and social aspects of IT supported emergency management and inform socio-technical innovation. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to make a presentation discussing this contribution and provide a written example of recent academic work.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Dr Monika Büscher by e-mail at: m.buscher at lancaster.ac.uk<mailto:m.buscher at lancaster.ac.uk>. Further information about the mobilities.lab may be found here: http://www.lancs.ac.uk/fass/centres/cemore/
