Systembolaget's Council for Alcohol Research (SRA) provides support to
both social scientific and medical research on alcohol and its use,
giving special priority to research related to the prevention of
alcoholism.

This year's funding prioritises social scientific and public health
research. Applications for amounts of 100,000–300,000 SEK
(11,630–34,889 EUR), allocated on an annual basis for up to five
years, will be evaluated both on their scientific quality and their
societal relevance. Candidates must hold a PhD. The total amount
available from the SRA this year is 3 million SEK (348,891 EUR).

The process is managed by the Swedish Council for Information on
Alcohol and Other Drugs (CAN). Applications must be submitted via the
Council's web-based application system (http://www.can.se/sra, website
in Swedish only). After the application is submitted electronically,
