Dear friends,

Please find included the second version of the Short List of Selected
Readings (Books) on critical discourse studies. I have added some
"classics" (on discourse and power) that also may serve as introductory
readings, and two books on gender and discourse (there are many on this
topic, and it is hard to choose).

I also made some corrections in the earlier references (obviously the
excellentText and Practices book was also edited by Malcolm
Coulthard. Sorry Malcolm).

Thanks for comments and suggestions on the first version of the list
are due to Jim Martin, Brenda Rourke, John Eric Matson, and Kathryn
Remlinger.

Further suggestions will be very much appreciated -- although a "Short"
obviously should not have too many titles -- I was thinking of a
maximum of about two dozen titles.

Best wishes

Teun
