Dear colleagues,

I'd like to draw your attention to a survey that my colleagues
Britta Schneider, Emily Farrell and me put together in order to
help us better understand the challenges and opportunities
relating to open access publishing in sociolinguistics and related
disciplines. Publishing research open access is often regarded as
emancipatory, allowing for a democratic distribution of knowledge.
But does it really impact on whose voices are heard in linguistic
academia? Does open access publishing impact on traditional
academic hierarchies or does it imply new forms of gatekeeping? Is
there still skepticism about the impact of open access publishing?

People with experience in open access publishing but also
scholars with little expertise in practices and discourses
surrounding open access are kindly invited to participate in the
survey and to share it within their networks.

To participate, follow the link <a

Thank your and best regards,
