Hi Rachel,
Maybe some of these regular (and not too individualistic ;) activities
are what you're looking for:

The Political Lingusitics conference in Warsaw this September looks like
it has a number of CDA papers; and if you click 'workshops' there are
two listed (on social psychology and on commitment in political discourse).

The University of Essex in Colchester has a very good summer school in
Discourse Theory (Laclau and Mouffe's approach to political discourse).
The Applied Discourse Analysis course was last week but there are still
some other courses over the next few weeks, and it runs in a similar
format every summer.

There's the CADAAD conference in 2008 (call for papers 30 Nov 2007) on
the site Andrea already mentioned.

The Centre for Discourse Studies at Aalborg University has regular
workshops and lectures, and used to have a great annual summer school,
but unfortunately nothing coming up soon - maybe it's worth checking
occasionally.

All the best,
Flyss
