<P align=justify>I joined the DISCOURS list a few weeks ago and I would like to
introduce myself to the other subscribers.</P>
<P align=justify>I’m a French germanist teaching as assistant (German
linguistics and translation) at the Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg
(France). My researches focus on phraseology (in language system and language
use) and on the links between culture and language (especially on the Austrian
variety of Standard German). I’m now working on this last topic for my
doctorate thesis trying to put together the main key-words of Austrian culture
as reflected in literary and technical texts (e.g. autobiographies, diaries and
constitutions) ranging from 1900 to nowadays. In this way,
‘discourse’ and ‘text’ are central concepts for my
research and I hope getting some interesting impulses from the DISCOURS
list.</P>
