<P>The School of Language Studies and Linguistics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, is organising an international conference titled Language And Nationhood: Discourses Across Cultures And Disciplines (SoLLs.INTEC.07) at Sheraton Subang Hotel and Towers, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia on 15-17 May 2007. </P>
<P>The conference focuses on issues of language and nationhood and aims to bring together international and local academicians, researchers and experts in a dialogue to exchange and share ideas and ideologies, knowledge and disciplines, cultures and practices, policies and positions, and plans and visions. The conference will be an avenue for discourses across various cultures from the east and west and multidisciplines from varied areas of study in language, literary studies, linguistics, education, technology, culture, professional communication, planning and policy to come together. </P>

<DIV></DIV>We would like to invite papers, workshops, and poster presentation that relate any of the following areas with language and nationhood: sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, ESP, critical discourse analysis, stylistics, semiotics, gender studies, literary education, media studies, anthropology, psychology, pedagogy and technological innovations in language learning. Interested participants are invited to submit their papers and/or register with the conference secretariat.
