I wished people in CDA were more active in that respect. We did have
our (nearly annual) meeting in B'ham in June, but I am afraid there are
no regular or frequent congresses, symposia of CDA. We're just a bunch
of rather individualistic critical researchers, and have no
organization, no regular congresses, no workshops, etc etc as other
scholarly sects have. Sorry. You'll have to be content with reading
papers and books and doing the round of websites (I guess you have seen
mine). <br>

Moreover, I am afraid that the field of early childhood care is not a
field anyone in CDA I know seems to be specialized in. In critical
education studies, yes (Allan Luke, etc), but not in the topic you
mention. I did a search in my BB (Big Bibliography - some 450,000
titles) but nothing came up on childhood care, let alone on childhood
care and CDA, etc. You'll have to do this on your own. It will all
depend on the kind of data you have (policy documents) and your (very)
precise goals, which will help you to choose method. See also the books
on the attached list for details. Maybe you don't even need CDA. A
critical reading of the contents of the policy documents, with lots of
knowledge about child care, will probably more relevant than a
meticulous analysis of linguistic structures of these documents,
although for instance an analysis of the arguments in such policy
documents might be relevant.<br>
