<p class=MsoNormal>this is a first announcement that the 9<sup>th</sup>
conference on Researching and Applying Metaphor (RaAM 9) will be held in Lancaster,
UK, from 4-7 July 2012. The theme for 2012 is “Metaphor in Mind and Society”,
and confirmed plenary speakers are Masako Hiraga, Albert Katz and Andreas
Musolff. There will be a number of pre-conference workshops on methods of
metaphor analysis (confirmed facilitators: Irene Mittelberg, Cornelia Mueller,
Anatol Stefanowitsch). The main organisers are Elena Semino and Veronika
Koller.<o:p></o:p></p>
