Regarding excellent workshops, etc--Teachers College is holding an 'International Symposium on Language in Education' titled: Imagining Multilingual Schools. The list of speakers is very attractive, and you can explore the full context of the symposium at this website: http://www.tc.columbia.edu/ceoi/languagesymposium.html.

It seems that registration is closed, and all seats are sold out. However, if you have questions regarding registration, the website suggests that you contact Jocelyn Smith at: jsmith at tc.columbia.edu . You never know--some people might cancel in the impending weeks of the conference. Although not a workshop per say--it still is an excellent learning experience.

Have a great last few weeks of summer.

For those of you interested in a short summer course on discourse analysis, I
would like to recommend Dexus (Discourse Nexus) held at the Center for
Discourse Studies at Aalborg University in Denmark. Information on this year's
course, which ended last weekend, is available on their website.

I was wondering if other members of the list could recommend other worthwhile
short courses and workshops offered of relevance to educational linguistics.
