Language Crossover

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me what I call "language cross
over." I'm a rather advanced L2 student and recently began studying my third
language. Though I'm 17 (and from what I have read about Linguistics, age does
factor into multiple language aquisition), "my" languages continue to come
easily for me; however, I have begun to notice that I'm losing control, if you
will, of my languages and commonly find myself just blurting out what was on my
mind in one of my given languages. I know that I have read about research that
involves how the brain handles multilingualism and how it knows when to use
which language. If anyone can help explain this "language cross over," it
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
