TODAY: LDC Institute presentation by Col. Stephen A. LaRocca

Dear Friends,

The Linguistic Data Consortium is hosting the next LDC Institute TODAY,
Tuesday, March 23, 2004 from 1:30-2:30pm in the LDC Conference Room,
Suite 810, 3600 Market Street.

Colonel Stephen A. LaRocca, Director of the Center for Technology
Enhanced Language Learning (CTELL) and Academy Professor of French and
Linguistics at the United States Military Academy at West Point, will be
discussing his work with Project Santiago developing speech corpora
originally used to train acoustic models for automatic speech
recognition that could be used as an aid in teaching languages to West
Point cadets.
