Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Victoria invites
applications for a full-time sessional appointment in the area of
applied linguistics for the 2005-2006 academic year. The applicants
should have a PhD in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics, with
specialization in second language research and pedagogy, an ESL/EFL
concentration, a good record of scholarly achievement, and
demonstrable teaching skills.

The normal course-load for a sessional appointment is six courses per
year (September 2005 - April 2006). The responsibilities of this
position include teaching in our undergraduate (BA and Diploma) and
graduate programs in Applied Linguistics. Courses taught will be in
the following areas: second language acquisition, applied
linguistics, second language teaching, and pedagogical grammar.

curriculum vitae, copies of teaching evaluations, publication

2005.

A decision will be made within two weeks of the deadline for
application. Appointments will be within the CUPE 4163 (component 3)
Sessional Lecturer certification. The department reserves the right
to fill additional teaching assignments from the pool of applicants
for this posting.
