Call for Proposals: TIRF Announces Its 2006 Research Priorities

The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF)
is pleased to announce the research topics for the 2006 funding competition.
TIRF offers both Priority Research Grants of up to US $ 25,000 (for
established researchers) and Doctoral Dissertation Grants of up to US $
5,000 (for PhD students who have advanced to candidacy).

For 2006, all Priority Research Grant (PRG) proposals must be directly
related to the Integration of Grammar Instruction into Adult ESL/EFL
Curricula: Approaches and Their Effectiveness. PRG proposals addressing
other research priorities will not be considered.

For Doctoral Dissertation Grant (DDG) proposals only, applicants may choose
the current (2006-07) priority (to the Integration of Grammar Instruction
into Adult ESL/EFL Curricula: Approaches and Their Effectiveness) or one of
the past priorities topics (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005) listed on the TIRF
website (http://www.tirfonline.org).

Please note that allocation of funds is subject to budgetary availability.

The deadline for receipt of complete proposals is March 31, 2006 (11:59
p.m., Pacific Daylight Time—on the west coast of Canada/USA). Submissions
are by email only. Please visit TIRF’s website for further information and
proposal submission guidelines: http://www.tirfonline.org.

Please note: TIRF was formerly the “TESOL International Research
Foundation,” but we have changed our name in order to avoid confusion with
the TESOL association.
