  Position Openings for Fall 2007 

  TESOL and Applied Linguistics

  Teachers College, Columbia University
  Lecturers of Language and Education (Renewable Term Positions)

  Positions: The TESOL and Applied Linguistics Programs at Teachers College, Columbia University, are seeking two lecturers with demonstrated teaching experience and research interests in TESOL and Applied Linguistics. The initial term for the positions is three years with the possibility of reappointment for another two years, pending funding and favorable annual reviews.

  Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses in some of the following areas: second language assessment, second language acquisition, computer mediated language learning and instruction, corpus linguistics, second language reading and writing, phonetics and phonology, pedagogical English grammar, and classroom practices. Advise M.A. students and serve on dissertation committees. Participate in routine program administrative activities. Maintain an active research interest and professional profile in TESOL and Applied Linguistics.

  Qualifications: Earned doctorate in TESOL or Applied Linguistics; a record of successful ESL teaching experience; demonstrated record of graduate level teaching; some evidence of service to the field of TESOL and/or Applied Linguistics; and ability to perform administrative duties.
