English language an edge for lecturers

UNIVERSITIES are encouraged to find lecturers who are well-versed in the 
English language when they communicate with students. 

Higher Education Ministry parliamentary secretary Datuk Dr Adham Baba said the 
ministry has no plans to make the ability to write, read and speak English a 
pre-requisite in appointing lecturers at public universities. 

“However, aspiring lecturers who are conversant in the language and other 
international languages will have the advantage in their applications for the 
posts.
