NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING PUPILS IN LINE FOR HELP

EXTRA funding is needed to help teachers provide special lessons for youngsters 
whose first language isn't English.

Education Minister Anne Craine said she would be looking to allocate 
approximately £150,000 in the department's next budget specifically for English 
as an Additional Language teaching.

She said schools were already providing their own EAL support but needed more 
departmental assistance.
