"Sign language gives communication gift to infants"

An infant can start signing anywhere from 6 months on and express desire way 
before they speak, which alleviates frustration," she said. "That's because the 
motor cortex develops sooner than the speech mechanism. 

"It also enhances brain development," she added. "And learning to sign - 
especially the alphabet - teaches reading readiness skills."
