* PROGRAM COORDINATOR AND EDUCATION MANAGER AND PROGRAM DESIGNER, 
AKANKSHA FOUNDATION, MUMBAI NAD PUNE


  The Akanksha Foundation is a non-profit organization working in Mumbai
and Pune with a mission to impact the lives of less privileged children.
Akanksha addresses non-formal education through its 56 Akanksha centers (23
in Pune; 33 in Mumbai) as well as formal education by initiating school
reform.
Responsibilities:
The PC will need to:
    * implement the mission, core values, and goals of the program
·         design and deliver curriculum in English, Math and/or education
courses (including subject-specific methods classes)
·        evaluate fellows, staff, and the overall program
    * mentor fellows as teachers-in-training
    * administer the program
ATF is a state-of-the-art teacher training program being developed by
Akanksha that transforms young adults from some of the lowest-income slums
of Mumbai and Pune into exceptional educators and leaders. ATF is a
three-year structured program that provides ongoing personal and
professional support to teacher candidates.
Pune EM
Role: Education Manager, Pune, India
Responsibilities:
The EM oversees the overall functioning of the Education Department.
    * Ensures smooth functioning and high quality of learning at all
Akanksha centres
    * Helps develop the overall Akanksha curricula and syllabi (for
students aged 5-15 years)
    * Plans and manages meeting and training session for teachers on a
regular basis through the year
    * Discusses and sets curriculum goals for each centre and regularly
reviews centre progress
    * Oversees administrative tasks directly connected to the education
department

LTL
The LTL Program finds academically strong and motivated students and
integrates them into private schools. Students at LTL are in small classes
where they are pushed to excel and provided with formal school tuitions to
ensure that they do well in school. LTL works longer than the academic year
and focuses on leadership and academic excellence.

Role: Program Designer for ‘Learning to Lead’ Program (LTL)
Location: Mumbai

Responsibilities:
·        Teaches the leadership curriculum
-        Works with children to build values and skills critical for
leadership
-        Helps to build awareness of current affairs and issues
-        Works with the children on their written and spoken English
-        Aids in personality development of the children
·        Coordinates and supervises activities for one batch of LTL children
