As scholars in the fields of linguistics, I want to share with you several
opportunities where your expertise and experience is needed to lecture
and/or conduct research in Asia and Central Asia through the Fulbright
Scholar program in the 2008-09 academic year.

** Lecture and/or conduct research on global communication in Malaysia
through the All Disciplines award
(http://www.cies.org/award_book/award2008/award/All8158.htm)
** Come to the Philippines to lecture and conduct research on Global Issues
(http://www.cies.org/award_book/award2008/award/Glo8169.htm)
** The Kyrgyz Republic has an award in TEFL and Turkmenistan is welcoming
applications in All Disciplines.

All of the awards listed above have communications or linguistics as their
preferred disciplines. Please keep in mind that Fulbright awards are for US
citizens. To register and apply for the 2008-09 competition, please click
here: http://www.cies.org/us_scholars/us_awards/application.htm. Also, if
you have had a Fulbright grant in the past, a message on newly adopted
eligibility guildelines from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship
Board can be found at http://www.cies.org/message1.htm.

The application deadline for grants in the 2008-09 academic year is August
1, 2007. You are welcome to contact us at any time with questions you have
about the awards or application. If you are not considering making an
application this year but know someone else who would benefit from a
Fulbright opportunity, please feel free to forward this message on. Please
be in touch with any questions.

Thank you.
