Persian has survived owing to its potential as a rich language: Kashmir governor

India-Kashmir-Persian Language 
Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (Rtd) S K Sinha said Saturday that there was need to 
strengthen cultural ties between India and Iran as both were building their 
economic ties. 

Gen Sinha, who a was the chief guest at the valedictory function of the 21-day 
refresher course in spoken Persian organized by Post Graduate Department of 
Persian of the University of Kashmir in Srinagar, said, "When India and Iran 
were forging economic ties we must come forward and forge linguistic ties too 
and this refresher course at Kashmir university was a step towards that 
direction." He stressed that in the present day world of global village there 
is but the dire need to forge linguistic ties with the rest of the world along 
with the economic ones.
