The English Debate: A press luncheon with David Graddol

The argument about the language of education is much more than developing the
intellectual skills of children, it is also about an argument about national
identity. The impact of policy changes in the use of the English language in
education depends a lot on how well and how strategically it is managed. As
much as there is great opportunity for success, there is also the big risk of a
disaster. British Council in collaboration with Ateneo De Manila University
would like to invite you to a press luncheon with David Graddol on 4 June 2007
at the Natividad Galang Fajardo Conference Room, G/F Dela Costa Hall, Ateneo De
manila University at 12nn. Registration starts 11.30am. For confirmation,
please call 914 1011 or e-mail digi.castillo at britishcouncil.org.ph (British
Council/PIA XI)
