Call for Proposals

Heritage Language Journal, Special Issue on Heritage Language Learning and
Identity

The Heritage Language Journal invites proposals for its upcoming Special
Issue, "Heritage Language Learning and Identity."

The Editors seek proposals that examine issues of identity among heritage
language learners from different linguistic and cultural
backgrounds. Topics may include, but are not limited to: attitudes and
motivation, the construction of identity, identity in relation to language
and/or cultural competence, age differences and identity, and the role of
identity in heritage learning contexts.

We welcome proposals from a variety of theoretical perspectives as well as
case studies.

Initial proposals are due by January 15, 2008, and should be
no more than 1,000 words.
