38% more graduate with language degree

THE number of language graduates at Scottish universities has jumped by a third.

And official Scottish Government statistics also show that 3% of graduates go to work overseas.

The figures come as around one in 10 people say they are learning a new language, some so they can buy a second home abroad.

There was a total of 2125 language graduates, up 38% on the previous year.
