Australian Council of TESOL Associations

 

Inaugural International TESOL Conference

 

Pedagogies of Connection: Developing Individual and Community Identities

10 - 12 July 2008 - Alice Springs Convention Centre

 

The focus of this conference is on the potential for TESOL pedagogies to make connections among individuals and communities. The conference will explore a range of TESOL pedagogies and their influences on the development of identities and relationships in diverse TESOL settings. This will include discussion of the role of language and culture within pedagogy. The keynote speakers listed on the right are international leaders in the field, and conference participants will comprise TESOL educators and researchers from around the globe.

 

Call for Abstracts

ACTA cordially invites teachers and researchers to submit an abstract for the conference, using the Abstract Submission Form <http://www.tesol.org.au/conference/AbstractSubmissionForm.doc> .

Abstracts must address the theme of the conference and applicants will be notified in February 2008.

 

Submissions
Please forward the Abstract Submission Form <http://www.tesol.org.au/conference/AbstractSubmissionForm.doc>  to the Conference Secretariat by close of business 30 November 2007.

All presenters are required to provide ONE of the following:

a PowerPoint presentation, handout or non-refereed paper, for an online Conference Proceedings. Nonrefereed material may be submitted electronically, in hard copy or on a CD to the Conference Secretariat at the Conference; 

OR

a paper for a fully refereed special edition of TESOL in Context, the bi-annual ACTA journal publication, in accordance with the 'Instructions for Contributors' on the ACTA conference website. The deadline for submission of refereed papers is 10 August 2008 (one month after the conference).
