Assistant Professor of Spanish

 

Tenure-track position. Starts fall 2008. Assistant Professor in Applied Linguistics, i.e., Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis, Translation Studies or Dialectology.  Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English essential. Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement/publications. Appointment as tenure track assistant professor requires Ph.D. by August 1, 2008. Duties include coordinating first-year Spanish program, and teaching upper-division Spanish, linguistics and graduate courses in area of specialization, including methods course. Reduced teaching load for coordination and graduate student training.  All professorial faculty are expected to participate in departmental governance, academic advising, and the life of the University community. Salary competitive.
