International Symposium on Bilingualism 7

 

8-11 July 2009 Utrecht

 

The Utrecht Institute of Linguistics OTS (UiL OTS) of Utrecht University, the Netherlands, hosts the 7th International Symposium on Bilingualism (ISB7) from July, 8 - 11, 2009.

 

The first and second editions of the bi-annual International Symposium on Bilingualism were organised in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 1997 and 1999, respectively, and ISB3 took place in Bristol. After 2003, ISB left the UK and in 2003, Arizona State University hosted ISB4. ISB5 was held in Barcelona in 2005, and in 2007, Hamburg hosted ISB6. Oslo will be the venue for ISB8 in 2011.



With 500-700 participants nowadays, ISB has developed into one of the most important conferences in the field of bilingualism worldwide.

 

Welcome to the submission site for proposals for presentations on the 7th International Symposium on Bilingualism, 8 - 11 July 2009, Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The 7th International Symposium on Bilingualism invites proposals for: 



1. Individual papers (oral or poster presentation)
2. Colloquia

·          grammatical development in bilingual children

·          multilingualism and education

·          multi-modality and multilingualism

·          neurolinguistic studies of bilingualism

·          psycholinguistic studies of bilingualism

·          sociolinguistic studies of bilingual communities and migration

·          sociolinguistic studies of code-switching 

·          translation- and interpretation studies

 

The deadline for submitting proposals: October 1, 2008



Letter of acceptance will be sent in February 2009 and the final programme will be available on the website March/April 2009.
