The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Maryland
invites nominations and applications for a Lecturer appointment to serve as
Coordinator of our TESOL Program. This is a full time, 12-month, non-tenure
stream appointment. We seek a creative and energetic individual who desires
to work with an exciting and nationally ranked TESOL program.

The candidate is expected to carry out varied duties including:

.	Teaching: Two courses per year.
.	Coordination: All initial and second field graduate TESOL
certification options, including both on-campus and off-campus initiatives.
Coordination includes participating in recruitment and admissions, guiding
scheduling and staffing, collaborating with partner schools in internship
placements, overseeing candidate and program assessment activities, advising
and monitoring the academic and professional progress of candidates, and
preparing appropriate reports. 
.	Service and Scholarship:  Candidates are expected to participate
responsibly in Department and institutional governance, be active in state
and/or national professional associations, and contribute to scholarship and
research on an on-going basis.

Qualifications:  Master's degree in TESOL or related field, Ph.D. or Ed.D.
preferred.  Candidates should have strong interpersonal, communicative, and
collaborative skills and provide evidence of relevant administrative or
program coordination experience.  Teaching experience in US K-12 schools,
university-level teaching experience, knowledge of teaching TESOL with
technology, and fluency in a language other than English are preferred.
