(Apologies for cross-postings)

Does anyone have a citation for studies that document phenomena where (e.g.)
Asian learners of English will read English texts aloud and even though they're
reading off a printed page, still omit the articles, and make other
modifications so that they read things that aren't there and produce
grammatically incorrect utterances despite grammatically correct text. Issues
of salience (grammatical and phonological) are at play, and lots of other neat
stuff.

Thanks!

Laura
