CFP: Issues in literature, language, and translation in the context of Europe in the 21st century

The second international conference of the Slovene Association for the Study of English

 

Entitled

 

"As You Write It: Issues in literature, language, and translation in the context

of Europe in the 21st century" 

 

will take place from the 18th to 20th September 2008 at the University of Maribor, Slovenia.

 

Proposals for papers are invited in the following subject areas:

* Literatures in English

* Linguistics

* Language Teaching

* Translation/Interpreting

* Cultural Studies

*  English for Specific Purposes (ESP)

 

Please send an abstract of between 150 and 250 words to

The preferred method is by e-mail. Abstracts should be sent as Word attachments. Please mention your full name (including academic title), affiliation, postal address, e-mail address, subject area, and the title of your presentation.

 

Due date for the submission of abstracts: 15th April 2008.

 

A selection of papers will be published after the event in a special edition of ELOPE.

E-mail notifications will be sent to authors whose papers are accepted to the conference by 15th June 2008. Please let us know if you need special equipment (a computer, an overhead projector, a fire-extinguisher, etc.) for your presentation. The presentation of your paper will take the form of a 15-minute talk plus a 5-minute question session.

 

Conference fee 110 EUR regular

100 EUR SDAS members

60 EUR students (please send proof of student status)

30 EUR late registration fee (to be added to all registration fees

after 15th July 2008)
