Post Masters/ Pre-Doctoral programs in L2 teaching &learning

I get this but I never post here to this list. I just lurk.

Miriam was my chair at NYU for my Ph.D. which involved technology.

I am interested whether or not you would hire a full time faculty  
member who went to an online university? Many universities do not  
consider that doing work on the web such as designing a class, or  
creating multimedia is relevant for tenure. So if this is true, would  
getting an online degree okay?

My masters at Tisch (in the dark ages I did this masters) compared  
online masters classes to 'regular' non online classes. It looked at  
teleconferencing, bulletin boards, etc. In 1986 we were far from  
Blackboard.
