TESOL Summer Certificate Program at Teachers College, Columbia University

While changes in the economy are forcing many of us to rethink our
career plans, one thing has remained constant?the need to communicate
across the global community. For this reason, Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) can open doors to unique
opportunities, both in the United States and abroad.

The TESOL Certificate Program at Teachers College, Columbia University
is an intensive, 7-week summer program for people interested in
teaching English as a second- or foreign-language. Balancing theory
and practice, the program includes:

?	How to plan lessons, create activities, and manage a classroom
?	How to teach grammar in an enjoyable, communicative way
?	How to incorporate culture into your classroom, and
?	Hands-on teaching experience

Additionally, if you choose to continue your studies at Teachers
College, six credits from the certificate program will be applied
toward an MA in TESOL.

Join us for an Information Session on March 6, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00
pm. The session will include a program overview from the director, Dr.
Linda Wine, and a chance to speak directly with teachers and alumni.
Light refreshments will be served.
