8th International Language and Development Conference

 

Dhaka, Bangladesh

 

23 to 25 June 2009.

 

The goal of the conference is to provide an opportunity to address the issues and challenges related to language policy, gender, cultural identity and social dimensions of the development and capacity building in the context of the developing world. The conference also highlights the vision and recommendations of the policy makers, teachers, employers and development professionals.

Theme: LANGUAGE AND DEVELOPMENT: SOCIO CULTURAL ISSUES AND CHALLENGES

 

The Language and Development Conference is held biannually in different locations around the world. The series began in Bangkok in 1993 and has subsequently been held in Bali (1995) Langkawi (1997) Hanoi (1999) Phnom Penh (2001)  Tashkent (2003) and Addis Ababa (2005). The conference is conducted on a voluntary basis by institutions or organizations with a direct interest in language and development.

 

Last date for paper submission is 20 April
