Training Specialist 

Division: Language Testing Division (LTD)/WIDA 

Hours per week: Full time (35) 

Salary:  $44,000 - $50,000 (commensurate with experience)

Position Available: Immediately

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Assist with research, materials development, and training products for educators of K-12 English language learners. Work as part of a larger team that develops assessment and training products for a multi-state consortium dedicated to the instruction and assessment of ELLs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review and edit training materials, including testing manuals, presentations, and audio/video media 

Assist in the development and revision of graduate-level professional development materials 

Respond to inquiries of administrators, district personnel, and teachers 

Analyze workshop and course evaluations 

Facilitate live training and professional development sessions on topics related to test administration, standards-based assessment, etc. 

Conduct background research for grant proposals 

Other tasks as assigned 

Some travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

At least a B.A./B.S. in Linguistics, Education, or related discipline. 
Masters degree preferred. 

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 2 years experience teaching English language learners (ELLs) in K-12 in the United States, as well as adeptness with technology. Experience delivering training and professional development preferred. Experience in the areas of assessment, literacy and/or content area instruction is desirable. A commitment to improving education, particularly for ELLs, is essential. Must be able to work in a team as well as independently, prioritize work and give attention to detail while meeting deadlines. Must have strong written and oral communication skills in English.
