Respekt: Language teaching obsolete, Czechs lose lucrative jobs

 

Czechs do not know how, why and which languages to learn even after their 20-year-long "path to Europe," which eliminates them from competition for lucrative posts that exist even at the time of crisis and cuts them off from scholarships, the weekly Respekt wrote on Monday.

 

The weekly writes that the notion that all must speak foreign languages without making mistakes, know irregular verbs and perfectly manage plusquamperfectum still prevails over teaching communication skills.
