The Common Language of TaL AM

 

Recently, at the Jewish Educational Conference in New York, educators enjoyed a presentation about a project involving videotaped classes both in the Former Soviet Union and North America. The participants were amazed, as they were able to clearly see that the achievements of the students and the teaching methods of teachers involved in this project were all comparable. While practicing in their unique settings, teachers managed to introduce a common language among their students and schools all over the Jewish world. What has brought about this common language?

 

The name of this unique program is TaL AM, a Hebrew language and Jewish heritage curriculum. The TaL AM curriculum is taught in grades one through five in over 400 Jewish day schools outside of Israel.
