Lecturer in Swedish (75% time)

Lecturer in Swedish position authorized for a non‐tenure‐track appointment
from July 2010 to December 2010 (or to June 2011 pending Department of
Education funding approval; further renewal is not excluded, but depending
on funding and authorization). Responsibilities include instruction at all
levels of the Swedish language (introductory, intermediate and advanced) and
Scandinavian culture and society, student advising, participation in
extracurricular activities, and close collaboration with German Studies and
the Cornell Institute for European Studies on behalf of the Swedish program.
Minimum qualifications: M.A. or equivalent in Swedish
language/literature/history/culture/political science or a related field,
native or near‐native fluency in Swedish and English, and teaching
experience at college level. Familiarity with program administration, latest
teaching methodologies and technology‐assisted language instruction
desirable. Some knowledge of Norwegian, Danish and/or Finnish beneficial but
