Lesson plan insults trouble for teacher

 

A history class in Prince George's County got an unexpected lesson this week. 

 

A parent said that her son's eighth-grade class at Drew Freeman Middle School in Suitland was asked to define such words as "bastard," "wuss" and other commonly used derogatory terms. 

 

The school's principal, Marla M. Dean, sent a letter home to parents Wednesday explaining that the teacher was using a Web site called Teaching Tolerance to address the use of inappropriate language in school.
