Disputed Russian language in eastern Finland

 

The municipalities of Lappeenranta, Imatra, Mikkeli, Savonlinna, Pieksämäki and Tohmajärvi are applying for permission from the Ministry of Education to be excused from teaching Swedish, YLE reports.
