Dear Colleague,

*Thank you very much if you are one of the 304 respondents who has already
participated in our short survey of the content of courses titled Second
Language Acquisition. Your time and participation are appreciated very much.
*

If you have not yet participated, but *would still like to participate* in
our survey entitled* “The Nature of Second Language Acquisition Courses”*,
please click on the link at the bottom of this message. If you volunteer to
participate, it should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete the
survey. The study is being conducted by Elaine K. Horwitz and Hayriye
Kayi-Aydar of the University of Texas at Austin, Foreign Language Education
 Program.

You must have previously taught or be currently teaching a Second Language
Acquisition (SLA) course at either the graduate or undergraduate level
anywhere in the world in order to be able to complete the survey.

*The purpose of this study is* to understand the content of Second Language
Acquisition (SLA) courses offered in different programs and provide an
empirically-based foundation for future development of these courses. Your
participation in this survey will contribute to a better understanding of
what many are already doing and offer guidance in future decisions.

*If you have any questions* or would like us to contact another person from
your institution, please send an email to
hkayi at utexas.edu<http://us.mc1114.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=hkayi@utexas.edu>
