Test Development Assistant (Temporary position approx. 4 months)

CAL Classification: Program Associate
Program Area: PreK-12 ELL Assessment
Salary: $26 - $36 per hour
Hours Per Week: 20-30 hrs/wk
Position Available: Immediately

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Assist with tasks required to complete test development in support of transitioning from paper based to computer based test.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  *   Complete storyboards and detailed specification sheets using layout guide and existing paper based test
  *   Review and check drafts of storyboards and specification sheets
  *   Review and check drafts of items for adherence to specification sheets and to identify errors
  *   Prepare written protocols and checklists
  *   Proof and copyedit materials according to style guide
  *   Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  *   Education: BA/BS degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience or a MA/MS degree in a relevant field
  *   Experience: Successful candidate will have experience working with language testing or K-12 ELLs

DESIRED SKILLS:

  *   The preferred candidate will be a self-motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment. Excellent skills in the following areas are highly desirable: native or native-like proficiency in English, proficient in the use of PowerPoint and Excel, thoroughness in execution of task assignments, and excellent time management and adherence to deadlines.
