The Department of Modern Languages at University of Mississippi welcomes
applications for a tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in TESL (TESOL) and
LINGUISTICS, to begin August 2015. The successful candidate will teach
undergraduate and graduate courses in the TESL and linguistics programs;
produce quality research; and, participate in departmental, college, and
university service. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in applied
linguistics, TESOL, linguistics, sociolinguistics, or a related field.
Teaching experience, evidence of scholarly activity, and demonstrated
commitment to diversity and inclusion are required. Ideal candidates will
have experience working with children/youth and/or in language learning and
teaching in K-12 or community contexts and will demonstrate expertise in
one or more of the following areas: second language (or multilingual)
development; language socialization; phonetics, sociophonetics, and
teaching pronunciation to second language learners; language, gender and
sexuality; African American English and/or World Englishes. Review of
