The Lund School of Economics and Management is one of eight faculties at Lund University.  Over 4,000 students and approximately 450 researchers, instructors, and staff study and work here, with education and research in the areas of the history of economics, business administration, trade, informatics, economics, statistics and research policy.



The Lund School of Economics and Management is seeking an experience educational developer with a specialization in developing English as a foreign language with respect to both students and staff.



The positions offers diverse duties in an organization with broad offerings in education and research in economics and information systems.  The teaching environment in the faculty is international and English is increasingly the daily working language of the organization.



Duties:

The duties of the position will first and foremost entail the development and implementation of pedagogy for students and staff at the Lund School of Economics and Management, especially with respect to English language development in speech and writing.



The holder of the position is expected to work with different methods and approaches such as participant observations, supporting supervision, helping to explain methodological issues and approaches with a particular focus on language issues in education at an advanced level.



The Lund School of Economics and Management works continually with internationalization and quality accreditation, and the duties also include assisting with authorship and language management with respect to explaining the pedagogical foundations of the faculty’s work in various forms of publications, documents, and web texts.



Qualifications:



Requirements

  *   Language abilities in English equivalent to the mother tongue level.

  *   The academic credential Teaching diploma in English Language Teaching (DELTA) and/or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

  *   Certified examiner for IELTS as well as certified instructor for IELTS examiners.

  *   Substantial practical experience with TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages).

  *   Experience teaching individuals and groups.

  *   Very strong abilities in intercultural communication.

  *   Very good ability to listen to and respond to students who find themselves in stressful situations and to help them relax and become motivated to study.

  *   Proactive, collaborative and the ability to be sensitive to the organisation’s needs.



It is of merit to have knowledge of the Swedish university system and to possess knowledge and experience from one or more international universities.  Experience with ESP, EAP, EASP and EFL are obviously of merit.



We expect that you are familiar with working in a consultative and support manner, where you are analytical and precise.  As a person, you must be calm and confident in your professional role, easily work well with others in a group while you are also expected to be independent and be able to plan and arrange your work.



It is of merit to have experience with leadership in the classrooms with student populations who do not have English as a mother tongue.
