Hi Susan,

Thanks to you and your students for your interest and enthusiasm about LANSI. We quite understand the position your students are in (most of the organizers are doctoral students). Unfortunately, I don't really have a better solution to offer your students beyond paying at the early registration fee. We do have a few volunteer spots that would allow the students to attend at least part of the conference for free, but we reserve those spots for our own students first, so there isn’t likely to be any vacancies left. Since this is a small conference that’s very much paid for by registration, we don't have much room for discounts beyond what we already offer.

We very much hope your students can still join as it's a one-of-a-kind experience with all attendees, plenaries and scholars in one room able to discuss and network quite a bit.

We hope to see you all there!

This is a reminder that pre-registration for the 8th annual meeting of The Language and Social Interaction Working Group (LANSI) will end on September 15th. The conference will take place October 12-13 at Teachers College, Columbia University, with invited speakers Rebecca Clift and Srikant Sarangi.
