<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">The <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Quebec</st1:place></st1:State> government is creating a breach in the province’s controversial language law that, under strict conditions, could eventually allow certain francophone and immigrant students to attend English-language public schools.</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">A bill was tabled on Wednesday to comply with last fall’s Supreme Court of Canada ruling that struck down provisions in the language law that prevented francophone and immigrant students – mainly from wealthy families – who attended private, non-subsidized, English-language schools from becoming eligible to transfer to English-language public schools.</P>
