<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">assistant/associate professor in the area of biliteracy in language minority contexts</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">to begin Fall 2011 pending budget approval. We seek a scholar with expertise in</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">biliteracy and one or more of the following areas: multiple literacies, bilingualism,</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">second language literacy, classroom-based research, language minority education,</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">or other related areas.</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">The department offers a Ph.D. in Culture, Literacy, and Language, a Master of Arts</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">degree in Bicultural-Bilingual Studies, Master of Arts degree in TESL, and a Bachelor</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">of Arts degree in Mexican American Studies. It also provides undergraduate and</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">graduate programs for teacher certification as well as support courses for other</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">programs in the University.</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Linguistics or a closely related area. University teaching experience at the graduate</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">level. Evidence of an established research agenda and strong publication record in</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">biliteracy. Demonstrated success in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate</P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">level.</P>
